A Testimonial...
As a parent of 3 children who attended Palmetto Athletic
Center, aka Columbia Gymnastics, I want to express my gratitude to this facility
and the owners for providing a warm, caring, positive and Christian environment
for my children. We have been involved with this center for over 15 years as my
children are now 22, 18 and 12. My oldest daughter started in gymnastics at the
age of 5 and proceeded to the team program in competitive gymnastics through
Level 8 and at that time she was 13 years old and decided to pursue school
cheerleading. The skills and knowledge she gained through this program allowed
her the ability to have the confidence to tryout and succeed in her new
endeavors. She went on to earn a State championship in cheerleading and then as
she was old enough to gain employment went back to PAC to work as an instructor
in their recreational program as she had gained all that experience growing up
in the program and was a natural fit as an instructor. My son began gymnastics
at the age of 3 and stayed in the program for about 6 years where he gained
skills in coordination early enough to benefit him as he began playing many
sports. He played soccer, baseball, basketball and golf and I believe he was
very coordinated and successful at each one because of his early coordination
skills gained during gymnastics. He continues to play sports and has been the
starting pitcher on his team for many years. He also was able to gain
employment at PAC helping with open gym as he got older. My youngest daughter
started gymnastics at the age of 2 and joined team at the age of 6 and competed
through level 7. She too has decided to use her skills and recently made the
cheerleading squad at her school and is currently involved in competitive
cheerleading. All of my children have been involved in the afterschool program
for years along with many camps, open gym and other functions PAC has provided.
This facility has not only developed my children emotionally and instilled great
values but also physically and it has effected them is such a positive way for
their future. It provided them a great atmosphere to stay fit and keep them
busy instead of sitting around playing video games and the best part of it is
they had fun being there. They never wanted to leave and it is a great comfort
as a parent to know your children are being cared for while getting physical
activity for their body and brain and also having fun.
All sports and activities can be time consuming and
costly depending on how involved you want to be and we as parents always have
big plans of scholarships and dreams that are far into the future. Please
always remember that the reasons you are in a program first is for your child to
have fun and enjoy what they are doing regardless of their skill level or how
far they go. Our children spend more quality time in programs like what PAC
provides then they do with us sometimes and the owners and staff at PAC provide
a positive atmosphere and great second home to our children that will help mold
their futures. They are not only having fun but developing friendships with
each other and us as parents also get to develop new friendships. No matter how
much time or what you are involved in at PAC your child will learn some lifelong
values that you simply can not put a price tag on. When it is your time to move
on and reflect on the years you spent in one of their programs you will be able
to look at your child and what a great daughter/woman or son/man they have
become and realize a good part of their values, personality and who they are
today and what kind of person they will be in the future was gained by the
programs offered at PAC and all the money or time in the world would not be
worth doing things differently regardless of their decisions for the future and
most importantly they had FUN getting there.
Sincerely,
Lorri Evans - Time Warner Cable - Warehouse
Operations Manager (15 Years @ PAC)
